Leicester Riders Basketball
Leicester Riders Basketball Club became Patrons at the end of 2013 and have given us great support already. We are pleased to be associated with the club and look forward to supporting them in the future too.
Rochdale AFC

We were delighted that Rochdale FC have decided to become a Patron of Edgar’s Gift.

Our relationship with the club started in 2014 when Pete Vincenti became a Patron. When Pete moved on, Joe Thompson agreed to be a Patron also which was brilliant for us.

Now the club are Patrons and we look forward to working with them in the future.
Leicestershire County Cricket Club
The County Cricket Club became Patrons of Edgar’s Gift in the summer of 2013 and have already made some great contributions to help the charity.

The home ground is at Grace Road in Leicester and we are proud to be associated with the club.
Countesthorpe Cricket Club
We are really pleased that our local cricket club have agreed to become Patrons of the charity. Looking forward to supporting each other going forward.
Saffron Dynamo FC
Friend of the charity Adam Cooper introduced us to the football club and they were happy to become a Patron. Since then they have supported us in various ways including holding quizzes and selling raffle tickets. We look forward to a long friendship with this great local Leicestershire club.
Garden Glastonbury
We are delighted that Garden Glastonbury and it’s organisers David and Lindsey Oliver have agreed to become Patrons of the charity. They put in an amazing amount of work and also help us with Edgarfest.. We are lucky to have their support.
The Soundhouse
The Soundhouse Music venue in Leicester have been supporters of our charity for a while and are now a valued Patron. They host music gigs for Edgar’s Gift regularly and continue to be a massive help to us.
Peter Vincenti
Peter hails from the Island of Jersey and started his career at St Peter FC. He then enjoyed a career with Millwall, Stevenage, Mansfield, Aldershot, Rochdale and Coventry City.

Peter has been a truly magnificent supporter of the charity since his first involvement, and we are forever thankful for everything he does for us.
Dr Josh Smalley​
​
Josh is a Research Associate in chemistry at the University of Leicester and was a finalist on the Great British Bake Off on Channel 4 in 2023. It is a real pleasure to have Josh as a patron of Edgar's Gift.
Stewart Sale
Stewart has been an enormous part of Edgar's Gift for many years, taking on epic running challenges to raise funds as well helping to fundraise through other charity events.
Alan Young​
​
Born in Kirkaldy, Fife, Scotland played for Leicester City between 1979 and 1982, after spending a successful spell with Oldham Athletic. As an energetic and passionate forward, ‘Youngy’ was a fan favourite with those at Filbert Street and is now an expert summariser for BBC Radio Leicester. Edgar’s Gift are extremely grateful for Alan’s support.
Jonathan Agnew
Jonathan Agnew – Is a broadcaster for the BBC and is commonly known in many areas as “The Voice of Cricket”. After having a long and successful career with both Leicestershire and England, “Aggers” was widely regarded as one of the top pace bowlers of his era and has subsequently used his profile to raise awareness of many charities including Edgar’s Gift.
Jeff Schlupp​
​
Jeff started supporting the charity during our Cycling the 92 event in 2013 and became Patrons at the end of 2013. Jeff is a full Ghana international and plays his football for Leicester City where he is now a Premier League Champion. He has a great career ahead of him and we are delighted that he is a Patron.
Rendall Munroe
Rendall was the WBA International Super Bantamweight Champion. He is also a former holder of the EBU and Commonwealth Super Bantamweight titles. His day job as binman was well publicised as his nickname was 'The Boxing Binman'.
Rendall has been a big help to the charity over the years, previously with his National White Collar events.
Ben Raine
​
Ben is a professional cricketer having played for Leicestershire and Durham. We first met Ben at a Leicester Riders game and delighted that he has agreed to be a Patron of Edgar’s Gift, we are really grateful for his support.
Paul Nixon​
​
Paul Nixon is an English record-holding cricket player who has played for Leicestershire, Kent and England. As a wicket keeper and left handed batsman, Paul helped establish the Foxes in the T20 format and Edgar’s Gift are delighted to have him on board as a patron.
Darren Maddy
Darren Maddy – Is a former Leicestershire, Warwickshire and England cricketer. Born in 1974, Darren has consistently been one of the country’s most consistent all-rounders and was the first player to reach 1,000 runs in Twenty20 cricket. Darren is now head of cricket at Solihull School and everyone at Edgar’s Gift thanks Darren for his hard work and patronage.
Josh Cobb​
​
Josh is a professional cricketer, having previously played for Leicestershire County Cricket Club. Josh is a great supporter of the charity and we are so pleased to have him as a Patron.
Trevor Peake
​
Trevor Peake – Is a retired footballer who was part of the FA Cup winning team with Coventry City in 1987. Trevor also played for Nuneaton, Lincoln and Luton and is now still very active in the game having played in the Legends match for Edgar’s Gift as well as being part of the academy staff Leicester City FC.
Ed Melia
​
Ed is a highly talented Leicester photographer. He does a lot of photos for Leicestershire County Cricket Club as well as some fantastic nature pictures. His motto is ‘Making a split-second last forever’ and we are delighted that he agreed to become one of our Patrons.
Lewis Hill
Lewis is a right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper playing born in Leicester and playing professional for Leicestershire County Cricket Club. We are delighted that Lewis has joined as a patron of the charity and look forward to working together.
Ady Dayman

It’s great to have Ady as a Patron of our charity. He’s a Presenter at BBC Leicester and is an Honorary ambassador of Rainbows Hospice. Ady is also a skilled Landscaper & Horticulturist. We look forward to working with him going forward and raising the profile of the charity.
